Tommy the Pirate Captain

May 11, 2008

Dad dubbed Tommo a pirate due to his interest in the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean", promising Tommy that there are higher levels to reach beyond simple "pirate."

Tommy wants to be a Pirate Captain, and Dad says "to get that, there are tests."

Aunt Ann asks: "What are some of the tests? What do you have to do to become a Pirate Captain?"

Tommy says: "Dad says, tie my shoes....  And wipe my butt."

Tommy and his "self"

Tommy had a curious way of expressing his feelings when he was young.  Here is tommy after being told he need to leave the park, a place he loves!

August, 2006
Tommy is sad about having to leave somewhere, maybe the park.

DAD: "Are you sad about something hunny bunny?"

Tommy: "I think i have an OWIE"

DAD: "Where? I don't see an owie..."

Tommy: "I have an OWIE on my 'self'."

"Grandma's House"

When Tommy was young he was a little creative when it came to getting the hang of talking on the phone.  When we called "grandma's house" he REALLY called grandmas house...

November 13, 2005
Tommo gets on phone with Grandma and says:
"I love you Grandma’s house!"

January  2006
On phone with Grandma again: "HI, Grandma’s house!"

He crawls into bed with me in the morning and snuggles under the covers.
“This is Grandma’s-house bed.”

Tommo at 4 playing with cars...

May, 2006
Tommo plays with little cars, just his dad did. He likes to run them over “speed bumps.” His favorite speed bump is the bolt on the top of the night stand next to G-ma’s bed. One day he got a bunch of sand dollars out on the deck and lined them up.

DAD says: “Do you know what that is?”

Tommo: "Speed bump."

DAD: "No...It’s a sand dollar."

Tommo: "Sand dollar...  Sand dollar Speed bump."
